Well actually churches have begun to have more than one service. I go to a mega church in my area, and we have two services for the day. I have also seen other churches that have taken that as an example and have 3 services. A mega church isn't exactly biblical because many times it seems that the focus is more money driven rather than actual doctrine and growing in fellowship and in Christ. But many churches expand due to their growth in membership. Ask yourself, what would be easier? Would it be easier to have thousands of people going from one place to another? Or would it be easier to house them all in one large church? Its easier on the Pastor and the congregation to meet in one place even if it is an arena. But we also miss the point that the building itself is irrelevant to a degree. We as Christians are the church. What we attend each week is just a building, it is not our salvation. So I think we put too much stock in the building. Its not a sin to have a large church, but if a pastor does have a large church, then they must make sure the priorities are in place and that money or membership does not overshadow the true message of the gospel.

Someone has to fund their mega house, mega car, and mega planes.
Oral Roberts was supposed to die if he didn't get the money...wasn't he.???.. I suppose his son Richard felt the same way.
Mega churches have become more about self serving than God serving.

Those megachurches have offices running all week long, just like every other business. They need a place for all their accountants to count their profits.

It's a shame how these megachurches operate and how people support them.
These churches are growing because they are “based on the same principle as all successful businesses: putting the customer first.” Some feature “jazzed up services with videos, drama and contemporary music.” Certain religious leaders in these churches claim to teach their members to be “rich, healthy and trouble free.” Although such churches are criticized for being in the entertainment industry or in “the self-help trade,” notes the same source, “they are simply responding to demand.” The report concludes: “The merger between business and religion has been fabulously successful.”
