How much do air conditioners ( to make rooms cool) contribute to global warming?
We hear so much about automobiles (cars) planes etc., now I’ve heard if we had smaller freezers…..
I have never ever heard anyone campaigning about the over-use of air conditioning.

Global warmingis a scam to scare people into accepting higher taxes and more government control over their lives, scientists cant even make up their minds if the earth is warming or cooling.

None. An air conditioner is a closed unit and can omit nothing into the air. The earth has been cooling over the past eleven years due to the decrease in sun spots. It is now being accepted by scientists that global warming was the result of sun spots and has nothing to do with humans.
I’m young myself but take great interest in enviromentalism. Air conditioners are very bad to the ozone layer. Many (mostly older models) produce CFC’s that help enlarge the hole in the ozone layer. Newer versions contain less harmful or no CFCs while running. I suggest getting newer, more efficient air conditions to save money, energy, and our planet [:

a small window unit uses from 800 to 1500 watts & whole house central units use a lot more so since they often run 24 hours a day they are no doubt responsible for more pollution than cars.
its funny that people will change a light bulb that’s only on a few hours a day to save 50 or 60 watts but they wouldn’t think of turning off the air & perspiring a little to save a thousand times that much.
everyone wants YOU to cut down to save the environment but refuse to be inconvenienced themselves.
Older air conditioners did indeed use CFCs as a coolant, which were banned by the 1990 Montreal Protocol. CFCs are known to destroy stratospheric ozone, which blocks incoming solar radiation. This does not however relate to our changing climate. However, the power draw of an air conditioner is significant and producing all that electricity creates a lot of CO2 through fossil fuel combustion. Furthermore, the replacements for CFCs are either HCFCs or propane. HCFCs are a much stronger greenhouse gas than CO2, and propane, as a Hydrocarbon are also significant greenhouse gasses, so accidental releases could contribute further to climate change.
