Grandma has a 1997 ford e350 motorhome. Was told to replace whole air conditioning system.what is the price?

She is trying to get back home to MI from Fl. they told her the part she needs cant be replaced the whole system needs to be. They quoted her 1000. does that sound right or like its too much?

    That depends on what they are replacing. If they quote her for replacing the compressor, dryer, ccot tube, flushing to system out, new oil , and freon that plus labor would probably be ballpark, high , but ballpark. There is no part that can not be replaced seperately. Most places do however require (for warranty) that if you replace the compressor, the dryer,ccot tube must be replaced. As well as the system be flushed which removes all debris and oil. Hope this helps.
