(Nissan X-Trail 4wd, manual, 2004, 65000 miles)strange noise from the front right of the car?

Nissan X-Trail 4wd, manual, 2004, 65000 miles

Just got my car repaired at Nissan service…. engine overhauling, clutch assembly changed, piston rings extra. Since then I am observing strange sound from front right of the car. I hear the sound in following conditions-

Sound starts in the 1st gear speed 20, rpm 3000 to 4000
Now, shift to 2nd gear…sound goes away as rpm falls down

Sound reappears in 2nd gear speed 45, rpm 3000 to 4000
Now, shift to 2nd gear…sound goes away as rpm falls down

3rd gear speed 70, rpm 3000 to 4000
Now, shift to 4th gear…sound goes away as rpm falls down

In every gear, beyond 4000, sound is not audible.
If I remove foot from pedal at 4000-rpm sound reappears and is more pronounced until rpm falls from 4000 to 3000.

No sound on neutral, no sound when was car was lifted up in the air and pedal was applied.

Pressing or depressing clutch has no effect while sound is audible.

Mechanic says it is front right wheel bearing sound, but I have doubt, wheel bearing sound should be speed dependent and not rpm dependent as in my case. Any guess !!
Thanks in advance.
