help with asking price of rover 25?

This one has only covered 36,000 miles and comes with a full service history. The car has a steptronic gearbox and a great 1.8 petrol engine returning 35 – 40mpg.
The car comes with drivers airbag, ABS, power steering, Air conditioning, remote central locking, 2 keys and FSH. Everthing works as it should and the price is negotiable.
The car was first registered in August 2001 and is taxed through to June 2009.
They are asking £1999 ono – it looks tidy is it worth that much?

    I would say no Rovers are no longer made and that makes them less desirable to many.
    Take a look here but take note this is for 72000 miles and you didn’t say 3 door or 5

    Here are some examples for sale with lower prices and odd ones with lower mileage
    Hope it helps

    Dont forget there is a credit crunch and cars are not selling at all well so negotiate hard and you should get it well down in price if you realy want that particular one. Never forget there are thousands of cars for sale, that one is not the only car in the world, be willing to walk if he wont come well down on that price.
    Good luck

    Put it this way, the “Book” price ranges from a little below £1000 to maybe £1300; that’s with an average mileage of around 60,000 – 70,000. With a lower mileage it’s going to be worth a bit more, but not that much.

    Its a little steep. if its really good maybe £1500. Haggle if you’re really keen.

    Personally, I’d avoid it – see my response to your other question. Regardless of mileage, that’s expensive – nearer £1350-£1400 would be a more realistic price;

    The steptronic will average around 34mpg – you’ll never see 40.

    A shame, they’re nice cars, but reliability problems & apalling build quality make them one to avoid.

    if its a really nice car and you have to own it then pay £1200, but the car has nothing going for it.

    firstly its a rover, the headgasket will pop at the slightest lack of coolant, it has a poor and unreliable gearbox, and your mpg figure is optimistic to say the least.

    for the same money you could have a slightly older focus which is a far superior car.
