Air conditioning buying guide
Some establishments make campaigns of equipments of the type split at very low (between 200 and 250 euros) prices. Usually, they are conventional models: they call and they separate, they consume more energy and they cause great temperature flotations. Some don’t have energy label, nor instructions in Portuguese, against the law. Opt before for a model to invert, more efficient and económico, because it regulates the potency in agreement with the wanted temperature.
Several types to the choice
* The conventional monobloco are composed by only one unit, usually of inferior dimension. They consume more energy than the split. Most just cools and it is not very silent.
* The conventional portable units are similar to the apparel monobloco conventional, but “portable.” These models are linked to the exterior of the house through a tube (similar to the of the machines of drying clothes). Most just cools. The cooling system is less effective due to the small dimension. The placement of the tube demands an opening in the wall or window. In alternative, he/she has to leave a half-open window, what harms the effectiveness. They are very noisy.
* The split are formed by an interior unit and other external one. He/she suits to have in bill the cost of the installation for professionals, from 150 to 250 euros.
* The multi-split are formed by an unit to put in the exterior and among two to four for the interior. He/she allows to have air conditioned in different divisions with just an external unit. The tubes for the circulation of the liquid soft drink cross several divisions, excepto in constructions with pré-installation.
* The systems to invert they avoid great flotations and they moderate the consumption of energy. They are more effective, económicos and they check larger comfort, in spite of more expensive (between 500 and 1300 euros). One of the advantages is work with high efficiency to the partial load. When they are forced to work to the maximum load, in other words, in the beginning of the operation, the efficiency goes down.
Useful functions

* Another useful function is the possibility to program the apparel to work before the house to arrive.
* With the intelligent way, the apparel detects the people’s presence and acciona the automatic operation.
* The way económico allows to save electricidade and the nocturno adjusts the temperature gradually until turning off the apparel.
* The automatic cleaning of the interior unit promotes the quality of the air and the efficiency. A clean brush the accumulated powder in the filter at the end of the use. Some models alert to clean or to change the filter.
* Exclusive of the models to invert, the way darkens allows to work to the maxim speed in certain phases, what is an advantage in the beginning of the heating or cooling of a division.
* The capacity to adjust the direcção of the flow, so that atinjir directamente the people, it can increase the comfort.
Good practices
* Verify the available space to install the interior and external unit and the distance among the same ones. The more tan goes, more effective it will be the operation. Put the external unit to the shelter of the sun directo and in an airy place. The interior unit should be fastened in the part from the window, above all the apparel is used to cool.
* Clean the filters in every two weeks, to improve the quality of the air and not to commit the acting of the apparel. Ask a professional to verify once a year the liquid of cooling and the tube of cooling. Pressure alterations, escapes or defects afectam the effectiveness.
* Verify the points of fixation of the external unit regularly: he/she has to be right and stable.
* Choice an apparel with the appropriate potency to his/her house. Among two apparel with the same potency, compare the index of energy (IEE or EER, for cooling, and COP, for heating) efficiency: the more high, better, because it consumes less electricidade.
* Prefer apparel that work with the gas soft drink R410A, because they are more efficient. This information consists of the pamphlet of the apparel or of the plate of the characteristics.
* To close the doors and windows, to run the estores when the sun beats, to regulate the temperature (22ºC in the Winter and 25ºC in the Summer), or to turn off the apparel when it is not anybody home, it saves energy and also the atmosphere.
