does air conditioning in a car give you a headache?
i find it dries the air out and gives me a headache on long journeys. Is this scientifically correct, or am i imagining it?
I dont usually get headaches at all, only when the air conditioning is on. Now i drive a convertible and it’s 1000 times better.

It also depends on if it’s sucking things in from the outside that you might be allergic to–hence giving you a headache…
YES!!!! Unless it’s 100 degrees outside and I’m stuck in traffic, I don’t ever turn the A/C on in the car.
Sometimes I’ll have a slight headache and the A/C at home can turn on and make the house real cold, making my headache worse. But in a car? No, not for me.
you may need to change your cabin filter. It is probably dirty and needs to be changed.

Nope – it’s a fact – especially if you have not had it serviced – the whole system should be serviced at least every other year as the pipes contain bacteria and dirt – you pump those little bacteria bugs around the car – leading to headaches, sore throat, sore eyes and in worst case scenario – Legionaires Disease is known to be spread via air con/cooler units.
My dad gets that so we got a new expensive air conditioning system which still gives him a headache so don’t just go out and buy a new expensive one!

I’m not a big fan of auto air, and rarely use mine. Unless I have to ride a long distance in near 100 degree heat, it’s open windows or top down for me. ( I drive a pickup and a mustang convertible )

I often get headaches when I’m in air conditioning. Try turning it to the lowest setting and aiming the vents away from your face, even cracking the window slightly.
You might have mold in your A/C system. If you leave the A/C on when you shut the car off, there is a lot of condensation left in the system. About a mile or two before you reach your destination, turn it to vent to help dry some of the moisture up.
it should not have an effect otherwise there would be an health and safty issue unless there is a problem with it the air con runs on a gas same as your fridge at home so have it serviced just to be on the safe side
