Hi — I have a Dodge Caliber and the a/c just started rattling today. When I have the air on low, it doesn’t seem to rattle very much, but when it is on high, it makes more noise and is louder. Do you think the air compressor needs to be replaced?? I’m trying to avoid that because it will cost a lot, but please let me know what you think. THANKS!

  6. AndrCurrie says:

Are you running your car and have the a/c switch on and blower on high while filling? Also some diy kits require the can to be held upside down. And are you feeding to the low side of the system?

    I hate faulty compressors.

  8. gchsbus says:

He is wrong. If the compressor is rattling, there is too much pressure in the system. Just purge the high pressure line while the system is on and the car is running and it should fix the problem.
