How often should I leave my air conditioning on in America?
I am looking into apartments in America and some say you should leave the air conditioning units on all the time but I may only be there 3 months a year so how often should I leave it on?

ALL the time it’s america, duh!!!!
only when you’re there
poorly maintained air conditioners can cause legionaires disease… very nasty indeed.
As long as you want
It depends where in the USA you will live. It would be a waste of money to run it all time. However, is places like Florida you might have to to keep the humanity down.
Um, I live in America in a really hot part and I never turned on my air conditioning.
I like to save energy and money, so I never use it. I don’t know why people would say you NEED to have it on?
It depends on where you live and how much it costs.
When we lived in an apartment, we didn’t have control over when it was turned on or off. We didn’t really have to worry about the price because we paid a flat fee for all utilities.
Now live in a house, we have our AC from June – September, with the temps averaging 83-85 inside and 95+ outside.
A better question is why do you need an apartment if you will only be here three months?????????????
if u are paying your light bills then turn it off when u aren’t home. if it is covered as part of your set rent payment then screw the landlord over and leave it on 40 degrees when u are gone.
Depends on where you live and how humid it is. If it is humid you must leave the air cond. on all the time, but you don;t have to make it cold. 60 % humiditly is weather you can wear. so make sure to leave the air on about 78-80 dregees and not hotter or you things will get mouldy.
like anything else ,use it when you need it. A normal unit can use twice as much power as an inverter unit ,so that is also another consideration. But for only 3 months a year it is better just renting.
leave it on whilst you AR their and turn it off when you go
get to know someone who you can rely on one you can trust and that person does not go through your belongiges . and that person can go to your apartment and switch on and off . your A/C , or better still get a timing switch that way you can have on and off your A/C , you really need to have A/C cause that way your apertment will keep clean and you will not have any major problems in side
if you swith it off for long periods of time then there is the possibility of motor bearings ect seizing, also with the unit off the pressure is much higher than the normal running pressure on the suction side which may cause you gas leaks over time, leaving it on will cost you money aswell. the best thing to do is to get somebody to run it every week for you,
