Air conditioning dripping water?
My partner and I live in Beijing and the summers here are unbearably hot and humid so when indoors we have to use our air conditioning unit all the time. However, in the last few days whenever we put on the air-con within 30 minutes the thing is dripping water all over the floor, is this a common problem? And if so how do I fix it? If not am I going to need someone to come and repair it?
Our air con unit runs to a big fan outside on the side of the building, I’ve checked all the internal pipes as best I can, but without hanging out the window on the 26th floor I can’t actually see any problem inside.

you can get legionaires from that drippin thing, get out and get if fixed.
Most indoor air-con units have a water collection tray that is removable and should be emptied. Maybe yours is full, or maybe the drip pipe has moved?
The concept of an airconditioning unit is a condencer and evaporator to produce the cold air. There will be on your unit a water drain.
This can either get clocked up and the unit drips elswhere.
The themostat can be defective and the unit freezes up and with the warm weather the ice melts and then drips.
I suggest you have an qualified engineer service your unit each year.
Try cleaning your overflow drain pipe in warm water but without seeing it I can’t give an accurate diagnosis
Stay cool
Yes, if the drain for the condensing water is blocked or not fitted properly , or at all. Check if this is the case. It should be fitted with one so that the condensate can be directed away to a convenient place. Some models direct it to the motor casing when it’s suppose to evaporate. But that sometimes overflows and drips all over. If that’s the case, fit a proper drain pipe.
Sounds like the drain is clogged. The water that is dripping is the condensation from the humidity the AC removed from the air. Usually this drips into a pan and runs to a drain and outside. It sounds like your drain hole may be clogged with dirt or debris and its backing up and leaking into the room. The other option could be the AC unit has moved and is no longer tilted towards the outside. This may cause the water in the drain pan to not reach the drain hole and overflow into the room.
have a slant toward the outside to drain, its doing its job.
